Two-Day National Conference Organized by Vikrant Institute of Nursing and Science

The Vikrant Institute of Nursing and Science, Indore, organized a two-day National Conference on February 16th and 17th, 2024, under the theme “Upskilling Nurses: Challenge & Opportunity.”

Day 1: February 16, 2024 The inaugural ceremony featured Dr. Rajni Bhandari, Founder & President of the Thalassemia & Child Welfare Group, as the chief guest. The guest of honor was Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Prakash, Principal & Academic Director of Pal College of Nursing, Haldwani, Uttarakhand. Other dignitaries included Shri Rakesh Singh Rathore, Chairman of VGI & Chancellor of Vikrant University, Gwalior; Mr. Nitin Singh Tomar, Managing Director of VGI, Indore; Mrs. Garima Singh Tomar, Treasurer; and Prof. Keshkali Sharma, Principal of Vikrant Institute of Nursing and Science, Indore.

Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Prakash delivered the keynote address on the conference theme, followed by two plenary sessions. The evening featured a cultural program inaugurated by Brigadier Sivinder Singh. The event began with Saraswati Vandana and Vande Mataram, followed by various dance performances by students and concluded with a Sufi music performance.

Day 2: February 17, 2024 The day began with the fifth and final plenary session, followed by a panel discussion on “Upskilling to Transform Better Nursing Care.” Panelists included Dr. Sangeeta Mewara, Medical Director of Mewara Medicare & Eyecare Hospital, Mhow; Prof. (Dr.) Usha Mullick Ukande, Director of Edu Serum Nursing College, Indore; Dr. Jitendra Singh Dodiya, Principal of Vikrant Institute of Technology & Management, Indore; and Mrs. Susan Robert, Nursing Superintendent of Choithram Hospital & Research Centre, Indore. The discussion was chaired by Dr. Sudha T. Nair, Academic & Hospital Administrator, Noida.

Following the panel discussion, scientific paper presentations were held. The valedictory function commenced at 3 PM, with Dr. Ashok Mewara, Chest Physician, Mhow, as the chief guest. Ms. Foziya Khan led the proceedings, and Prof. Keshkali Sharma delivered the vote of thanks.

Delegates provided excellent feedback, praising the conference's organization and the relevance of its theme. The knowledge imparted during the event was highly appreciated and considered very useful for professional practice.
