Plant Description
fig (Ficus carica)
Figs (Ficus carica) are grown in almost all regions of Turkey, which is one of the
most important germplasm sources for figs in the Middle East (Tanriver, 2019).
Turkey has been in the front line with the 56% of the world fig production.
Recently, symptoms such as little leaf, shortening of the internodes, mottling and
deformation have been recorded in fig leaves similar to those of phytoplasma
symptoms in Sanliurfa province, Turkey. ‘Ca. P. aurantifolia’ (16SrII-B subgroup)
was identified in fig plants showing these symptoms (Akkurak et al., 2022).
Active constituent of Badam : Ficus racemosa phytochemical screening
revealed that the methanolic extract contains biologically active constituents such
as saponins, phenols, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, phenols, flavonoids, and
terpenoids with high medicinal value.
