Bundelkhand University, Jhansi has conferred with their Highest Honour by His Excellency Acharya Vishnu Kant Shashtri, Governor of U.P. and Chancellor of U.P. University in recognition of outstanding contribution in the field of Science, on the occasion of 10th convocation of the University, held on the 17th February, 2003.
Awarded with the Prof. Panchanan Maheshwari Medal by the Indian Botanical Society in 1999.
Elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad in 1999.
A jury consisting of eminent persons with Dr. L.K. Jha as Chairman, Shri, B.B. Vora, Prof. R. Mishra, Dr. T. N. Khosoo and Shri Sunderlal Bahguna as members awarded the First Indira Gandhi Fellowship for the research work on Environment Conservation and Management. Fellowship carried a monthly honorarium of Rs. 3000/- per month for two years and also a lumsum grant of Rs. 15,000/- per year for books, travel and secretarial assistance etc. the fellowship is available to applicants who are below 40 years of age. The fellowship has been instituted by Govt. of Madhya Pradesh (Department of Environment), Bhopal.
European Economic Commission (EEC) has awarded their most prestigious postdoctoral fellowship "Marie Curie" for the year 1993-94 to work in the area of genetic engineering in the Institute of Environmental Biology, University of Lancaster, Lancaster, U.K.
Awarded with the National Biotechnology Overseas Associateship of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India during 1986-87 to work in the University of Illinois, Chicago and University of California at Davis, CA USA on gene technology.
Awarded with the UGC's most prestigious Young Scientist Career Award in 1984 given exclusively to the scientists of below 40 years of age
